This proposed Folly Ferry service, a 2025 Beemok Catalyst competition candidate, would provide a 1.5 hour, direct water route between Downtown Charleston and Folly Beach, easing traffic on the often-congested roadways. The idea is to offer locals and visitors a convenient, scenic, and sustainable alternative to driving—cutting down on parking strain at Folly and reducing environmental impact. The ferry would also enhance Charleston’s tourism appeal by connecting two of its most popular destinations with a quick, enjoyable ride on the harbor and rivers.
